Today we drove about 4 hours from Sorrento to Pompeii to tour the forgotten city.
As I walked around it was hard for me to believe that this ancient Roman town was once covered in ash.
The eruption of 79 AD which buried the town in ash actually captured a moment in time. Under the ash everything remained as it was at the time of the eruption.
Tonight it's off to Greece!!
