Horse Back Riding In The Rainforest

Horse Back Riding With the besties and the Norwegian

The instructor took us for a long hike up a trail that had incredible rocky muddy obstacles for the horses.

As we got to the dirt road, the instructor and I rode the two horses really fast.

It was so breath taking being able to do that with the horses.  I felt like a kid again when we were responsible for the horses on a ranch.  It seemed as though the memory of riding a horse and being in control came back to me.  Reminiscing about the good times of being a kid.  I felt like a kid today, felt so free

Bird Watching In Sarapiqui Rainforest

Got up really early in the morning and walked the trail with the tour guides, spotting out different species of birds, lizards, frogs, and plants.   When you listen to the sounds in the rainforest you hear so many different types of unique birds speaking to you out loud.  There was a beautiful bird that was black and red on the butt area.  It was so unique and different to see.

After a fairly quick bird watching session we had breakfast and then got ready for horse back riding.

Night Walk In The Rainforest

It was an experience I have to say was very energizing and refreshing at the same time.  We saw two amazing frogs, green and red and a black one.

It was an excellent sense of exercise going up a challenging and muddy hike.

When we got back to the lodge I walked into my room and there was a medium sized lizard sitting behind the door.  It was incredible, not sure how it got into our room but we got attention from quite a few who wanted to take pictures of the little guy.  My roommate went to get the tour guide, he had no problem picking it up and holding it.

The Beautiful Rainforest of Sarapiqui

Today we left Tortuguero and we took just over a 2 hour ride to Sarapiqui Rain Forest.  On the way we stopped at a local restaurant for a bite to eat on the way to get on the tractor.

When we were taken to Sarapiqui rainforest, we rode on a tractor for about 2 hours.  It was an amazing ride through the rain forest to see how people lived in a country style setting.  Horses, beautiful different types of birds, endless wildlife like frogs, spiders, and snakes.

Today is Carol's birthday and the group celebrated with a cake in her honor!  Dinner was served, beans, rice, fish and pasta with white sauce.   After we had dinner and desert we went for a night walk in the rain forest.
